Wooden Anchor Timber Food Boards are made from locally grown Camphor laurel.
Camphor laurel is an invasive foreign species of tree (a classified noxious weed), it suffocates our native vegetation if not cleared & harvested appropriately.
Our camphor laurel timber is harvested sensitively from private properties in the Byron Shire, in a way which promotes native regrowth and increases biodiversity to the environment. We are in effect creating wildlife habitat corridors and dramatically improving the environment, this is something we are very proud of.
Not only are our food boards beautiful and unique in their vast array of color and grain, they are helping to restore the original “big scrub” rainforest of which less than only 1% remains today.
